Har Ki Dun Valley is one of the most gorgeous among the Uttarakhand trekking destinations, which is situated at the Garhwal Himalayas regions. It is a hanging valley famed for wonderful beauty. Har Ki Dun trek route offers a mixture of dense forests rich in flora and fauna, a sequence of old charming villages on the cliffs, the enjoyable experience of trekking by a sprightly mountain river, and vista of snow peaks. According to local people, it is the same route use by the Pandavas in the Mahabharata on their ascent to heaven. Swargarohini is another amazing snow peak, the idea of which dominates this trek bear’s legacy of the mythical stairway to heaven. In the middle of other remainder of an exciting history, the Holy Duryodhana Temple in village Osla on this trek deserves a mention.
Due to its well-built road link with the Borasu Pass, Har ki dun valley is also considered as the bottom point for numerous mountaineers who desire to trek to other different Himalaya peaks. Although a low altitude valley, having a highest elevation of 3,566 meters, one can't help but get delighted by the gorgeous Bandarpoonch peak range in the southeast horizon.
The extravagant Har ki dun trek flags off from Sankri, a small village in the Garhwal Himalayan range. The Har ki dun trek further continues to Taluka along the side of Rupin River and Supin River, from where the views of the amazing snow-covered Himalayan peak are stunning. From the place of Taluka, now the trek moves to place of Osla and one can take pleasure in the awesome view of thick forest sprinkled with walnut trees. Furthermore, from Osla to continue ascend leads to Har ki Dun Valley. The amazing natural beauty of the Har ki Dun Valley captures the imagination of every trekker. Upon visiting the Har Ki Dun valley, one can walk around the Morinda Lake, Jaundhar glacier, and Borasu pass. Also, Har ki Dun trek offers the interesting view of the amazing peaks such as Kalanag, Bandarpoonch, and Swargarohini peak etc.
The ideal time to Visit Har Ki Dun Valley is summer season (month of April to month of June) & Post Monsoon season (September to December month). If you are fascinated in snow trekking in Uttarakhand state specially Har Ki Dun Valley then the best time to visit is winter season (December and January month) .
Report in Sankri by 5 PM. Sankri is about 196 Kms away from Dehradun(Capital ofUttarakhand). You can get a shared taxi or public transport for Sankri early in the morning from Dehradun bus stand. It will take 7-9 hours for you to reach Sankri from Dehradun. Night stay in Hotel / Guest house. You can book Dehradun to Sankri Transportation with us. We will follow the same routine of morning exercise, breakfast and our trek leader will brief about today’s trek schedule. Today will trek for around 14 km’s from Taluka to Osla Village campsite . There is a unique temple of Duryodhana of Mahabharatha in Osla village situated at an altitude of 2650m. Along the trek route, you will cross bridges over Tons river, the lush green valley covered with wild orchids of Himalayas .. Reach camp and immerse in the e beauty of Garhwal Himalayas. Pitch your tents and try your hand in Night Long exposure photography.
Today morning after breakfast we will go trekking from Osla to our highest point of the trek i.e Har Ki Doon to Har Ki Dun top and once you reach there you will wish to stay there and would not want to come back . The trek is rewarding through open meadows and views of snow capped peaks. After trekking for about 6 hours you will reach the camp at Har ki Dun and enjoy delicious lunch prepared by our team and enjoy the views of the Himalayas.
Today after the breakfast we will descend back to Osla.This is the most easy part of the Har Ki Dun Trek which you will enjoy the most. We will be trekking by the same route so you have an idea about the landscape. After that we relaxes for some time have your sumptuous lunch and then explore the area.Overnight camp at osla.
Today after breakfast Be ready to trek down the entire leg of Har Ki Dun Trek from Osla Village to Sankri in one go, though it will be a bit long but it will not be that tiring as the entire route is downhill. Reach camp and relax .
Today after morning breakfast you will drive back to your home. Our trek ends here with lifelong adventurous memory.
